Having Fun Feeling Beautiful
Getting my picture taken, let alone posing for a picture is always nerve-wracking.
"Is my hair set in place? - Is my double chin going to behave today? - Has my makeup melted off yet? - DO I LOOK FAT?" Yeah. The list goes on... for ladies...
"Do I look fabulous? ... yeah... I always look fabulous *pose*"
On this day, I was feeling particularly beautiful, so I decided to grab my friend, Kisha, and stroll on down to a section of Griffith Park I pass every day on my way to work. I love Kisha for allowing me to kidnap her for a couple of frantic hours before the sun set, and indulge in my idea to have a 'photo shoot.' There was no real planning, no real talk about shots and definitely no make-up/hair person on the side. Just two friends, a setting, less than two hours before we lost the light and our combined creativity. Our spontaneity payed off and I love the results.
So besides posting my favorites of the set (for my mother)... I would like to say:
-If you feel beautiful, capture it-
Who cares if it's a 'selfie,' a photo taken by a friend, an artist's painting, a graphic designer's interpretation, a composer's melody, a chef's entrée, a florist's arrangement, a director's shot, a fashion designer's outfit, etc. You will savor the moment forever and love yourself more. Especially if you capture it with a friend who sees it too.
